My days off of work are Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Aaron's days off are Tuesdays & Fridays. This year, he has off on Valentine's Day, but I don't (but now I might because of the snow-- who knows?). We decided to have our Valentine's Day a couple of days early so we can spend the day together.
We slept in a little bit and then I made breakfast for us. It was de-lish!

| Valentine's Day Breakfast |
We took a lazy morning and then went out for lunch & a movie. We went to Chipotle for lunch, then before our movie started, we went to Target to get candy (I mean, we would never...). One thing we loved in Lynchburg was the "dollar theater", which is where Aaron and I went on our first date and many dates after. Up in Baltimore, we have a "three dollar theater". The movies aren't new, and they only change the lineup every 2 months, but it's cheap and it is much cleaner than the dollar theater in Lynchburg. We watched "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." What a great movie! It was uplifting, light-hearted, and inspiring.
To save money, we decided to cook dinner together rather than go out to eat. There is this store that was an instrumental part of my childhood. It was across the street from my elementary school, my grandmom used to work there, and they had the best deli in the world. It's one of those local treasures that, to an outsider, may look dilapidated and smell weird, but to someone from Baltimore, it's a goldmine. It was one of the better grocery store experiences I've had with Aaron. (He's awful to go grocery shopping with. He is CHEAP and argues about every item I put in the cart. Thus, I always go alone.)
Then we made dinner and spent the evening at home. Someone gave us tickets to see "Disney on Ice," but we had the monster storm and couldn't go. Maybe we can go over the weekend.
Not a bad Valentine's Day. It's not about wearing an evening gown and going to some $50/plate French restaraunt and being showered with roses and diamonds. It's about forgetting the rest of the world while you spend time with the one you love.
Happy Valentine's Day!
