In my last post, I expressed my genuine frustration over my work hours and my commute, which result in my time with Aaron being very limited.
That very day, I decided to take intentional action rather than just complain about it to the world of bloggers. I went to Target (my fave!) and I bought a cheap, college-ruled spiral notebook and a pack of colorful pens. I designated a certain place at our kitchen table to leave them. I wrote a note to Aaron on the first page, explaining that I want us to use this notebook to write kind notes to each other when we're too busy to see each other. We did that when we were dating. We also both used to keep journals. This way, we'll both be intentional about loving one another. It is going splendidly! We both love coming home and finding notes from each other. It's such a nice, encouraging thing to come home to rather than a tired, cranky spouse who's ready to tear your head off for forgetting to take out the garbage (that would be me...). =) It's so much fun! I definitely recommend trying this to those of you who work long/strange hours like us.
Last night, we watched Skyfall at the $3 theater up here. Loved it! And we went to Ikea and planned what we'll have our next apartment look like when we move in a couple of months (we're just renting this current place while Aaron is in school). That was fun =) Today, we went to an Indian restaurant. It was... interesting... Actually, it was the most disgusting stuff I had ever tasted. I wasn't sure what I was eating, it smelled bad, and it looked like bowls of colorful mush. I suppose it's an acquired taste. I'll stick with what I know.
Thanks for reading. =)
